Dog trainers get a free listing for your business

I have resumed taking listings for dog trainers on the 101-dog-training-tips.com website. I no longer require a link back to my website. I noticed that almost all the trainers who wanted a link on my site did not have any desire to reciprocate with a link back to my site. This is one of the reason I temporarily quit giving new links to other dog trainers. The other reason was spam. If I get an over abundance of spam I will again postpone giving links until I can find a new solution.

I have established new guidelines and policies and once again I’m giving links in the dog trainers directory.

If you have any suggestions or comments I am open to suggestions for improving our network of websites

One Page Website Experiment

Soon I may be ending the one page dog food website experiment. It has proven interesting and I have increases traffic to the site but not substantially. The most interesting finding is that after the online promotion was done I now get traffic on obscure search phases. I do not think I will try to harness this long tail effect, but it dose show that obscure sites can generate some traffic through unusual phrases.

I will continue to play with rethinkdogfood.com and I have a new experiment I want to run on this site.

Dogfood One page website experiment

I have started a one page website experiment. I bought the website name rethinkdogfood.com when I was going to sell dog food with a multi level marketing program. Needless to say after I found out how the program worked I did not get involved with a business structured in such a questionable fashion.

I have had the site mildly active for several months. There was a little copy on the site announcing it was awaiting future development. The first step was to add some relevant copy to the site and wait for Google to reindex the page. While I am waiting for Google I am also announcing the page to my online social network. I thought this might speed up the indexing process. So far I have not noticed any difference from websites that are not promoted through my social network. However Google did visit my site three days after I started promoting it across my social network but Microsoft’s bing did not.

Buying insurance for a dog rescue business

I have been planning to start a dog rescue for some time now and finally I have made the commitment to begin. The next major step in the process is to get liability insurance. This has proven to be a bit more challenging than I imagined. Fortunately a rescue group on FaceBook recommended an insurance company. It was nice to talk with a person at company A but I would like to get some comparative quotes. Unfortunately when I contacted company B a person outside the department I need to talk with told me that they are very busy and really don’t want to talk with me. I tried to contact company B most of last week and I am still trying to contact them. I will probably call everyday for the next week and see if anyone will give me a call back.

An interesting impression I am getting is that insurance for a dog rescue is much more expensive than insurance for dog training. I will keep all informed about my progress as information becomes available.

The http://ProtectionDog.com site is back up and running. Earlier today I took ProtectionDog.com offline. Because I thought it was hacked. Yesterday I was almost out of bandwidth so I increased the amount of traffic the website can handle by about ten times. I was rather surprised when today I had almost reached my allowable bandwidth limits again. After getting back from an important meeting I had time to discover why the site is using so much bandwidth. It seems that ProtectionDog.com has become popular on Google’s image search and is getting a lot of traffic for German shepherd puppies and German shepherd puppy training.

The increased traffic makes this is a good time to announce that I’m offering those who do protection dog training as well as those who offer trained dogs and puppies for sale an opportunity to have their own promotional blog on ProtectionDog.com

ProtectionDog.com has always ranked well in the search engines and since I no longer do any protection training I am offering other a chance to promote their training services as well as puppies and trained adult dogs on this site. Now your protection training services, supporting products, and working dogs can all share in the positioning I have gained. There are two sections where I am offering promotional opportunities. They are both brand new. I will be adding some content to them in the near future.
